The St WAPF Chapter's monthly meeting is this Saturday, July 14 from 10:30 to noon with a brown bag lunch picnic to follow. Come learn about what questions to ask a farmer, restaurant, vendor etc when purchasing food. We will also continue to shape our chapter -- come let your voice be heard in what you'd like to see! Fresh produce from this garden will be used in their school lunch program, at Birchwood Cafe and donated to a local food shelf. In addition, this schoolyard garden will serve as a living classroom where after school and summer school programs will engage young people to learn more about healthy and locally grown food. SUMMER PROGRAM / The EcoHarvest Summer Program consists of eight lessons held at the Seward Montessori garden. Each lesson will emphasize the importance of healthy and locally-grown food and include gardening skills and information as well as a fun, hands-on activity or art project.
