Guest guest
ADHD can be a comorbid partner of your son's disorders. Was this the first time this DR has seen him? and where there any test/eval scores he was using. Teachers and OT should not be expressing a diagnosis. Guest guest
Hi Crystal: I hope you are not frustrated with ALL doctors - some of us are not all that bad....;-) Why do you feel you have to " convince him otherwise " ?? This is a consumer issue - if you don't agree with his opinion, there are plenty of other specialists out there for second and third opinions. I don't claim to be g-d's gift to developmental peds, and my opinions are my own, and I don't try to sell my philosophy - I am just honest in my opinions. Good luck, Larry Laveman, MD Consultant, CHERAB http://www.apraxia.cc > Hi all, > > You all won't believe this one. Guest guest
Dr Laveman, Mike Savory, Thank you for the replies! There are alot of wonderful Doctors out there! This was my son, 's first visit with this Pediatric Neurologist. Here is my main problem, Within 20 minutes he was not only diagnosing ADHD but mentioning that medication would help him concentrate and he wasn't using any test/eval scores, just listening to 's History..Knowing my son well, he doesn't have a problem with concentrating and keeping to task. To clarify, the teacher and OT weren't diagnosing him, just stating that they don't see the usual behaviors associated with ADHD. I just don't want to get the label of ADHD, due to his sensory issues and lack of communication skills. DR. Laveman, Keep up the good work, we have seen wonderful results with the PRO-EFA!!!!! Thank you both for the help........Sincerely, Crystal In @y..., " Lawrence Laveman MD " wrote: > Hi Crystal: > > I hope you are not frustrated with ALL doctors - some of us are not > all that bad....;-) > > Why do you feel you have to " convince him otherwise " ?? > > This is a consumer issue - if you don't agree with his opinion, there > are plenty of other specialists out there for second and third > opinions.
