Guest guest
HI Everyone: My guys are four and going to turn 5 in Oct. 11th. Next year (since they miss the cut off from school) they will be in pre-k AGAIN (third time) but " mainstream " . They already go to mainstream pre-k only on Fridays and they LOVE IT ( they love it better than the special ed prek they are in now) . But my question is once they turn 5, what happens. Do they still do evualations, do they get an aid or does these services stop?? They have verbal dyspraxia and still need the speech therapist but is it a whole different ballgame when they turn 5????? JOYA111@... Guest guest
Liz, I am not sure how old Halley is but I would also encourage you to hold her......what Jennie said happened to her Lindsey was the same thing that happened to my son when I put him in when he wasn't ready for that group situation.....he also is very smart and the school is still angry at us for holding him back because " he is so smart " but there is a LOT more to life than just knowledge in an academic way.....he is almost done with kindergarten in a small regular classroom now and it definitely was the best decision we made for him (it is still hard on us sometimes because he is EXCEPTIONALLY tall and so people are CONSTANTLY questioning how old he is and if he is really in kindergarten.....but best for him for sure) Carol
