Guest guest
High fructose corn syrup is garbage put in the body. " Unfair " bad rap compared to other sugars!?!?? Garbage is garbage. They're all garbage. This article is so retarded it begs for commentary. All isolated sugars cause weight gain, whether sucrose (white table sugar), which is a mix of fructose and glucose or " high fructose " corn syrup. Fructose can't go along the pathway to form glycogen - to store as sugar in muscles, so it directly feeds the triglyceride pathway, resulting in elevated blood triglycerides (blood fats) and/or increased triglyceride storage in fat cells. The primary dumping/storage ground for triglyceride storage is outside the portal vein of the liver, in the visceral cavity fat cells, inside the stomach - under the muscles - and around the organs in the visceral cavity. Pot bellies result from ingesting significant quantities of triglycerides. All simple sugars, whether brown sugar, white sugar or sugar contained in high fructose corn syrup make people fatter and increase triglycerides in the blood stream and body. Which form of garbage is the worst? Who cares -- they're all bad for you and will increase visceral (inside the belly) fat. Avoid them. Eat natural food sources of sugar, like fruits, which contain natural fructose in natural (small) quantities that are very small compared to what you get from manufactured foods that contain high fructose corn syrup.
