Guest guest
I joined this list-serv awhile back and although I do not post I enjoy all the informative information I gather here. I am now in some need of some information and hope someone out there can help. I recently began " transition " from EI to the school system here in NJ. I was " blown away " to learn that my school systems' preschool handicap program for the 3 y/o's meet daily from 12:45 to 2:45. Polling numerous daycare centers in my area I found that this is always nap/rest time. I know putting my son on the bus at noon that he will be asleep by the time he reaches school. I feel that the time they are setting school for this age group is not optimal learning time and that he will not get the full benefit of school program...has anyone had this problem? Does anyone have information that could help me get a change for my sons' schedule? The other elementary school in my district has it's preschool program in the mornings and I would like to see him in that program but feel I need some " scientific " backup to support my wishes. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Kate (mother of Will, verbal apraxia) __________________________________________________
