Guest guest
When it comes to vaccines and your children I think it's every parent's right to make their own informed choice. While reading your e-mail I become slightly concerned that it seemed that all of your information was coming from " the advice " of your doctor. Have you taken the time to really search out both the " pros " and the " cons " of vaccines - using your doctor or a medical professional as a source, but not the sole source? While there are many arguments that can be made for vaccines (and other drugs and medications for that matter) there is also a flip side and many negatives to the use of vaccines - especially in certain populations. The drug companies, doctors and states all make a lot of money off of the Vaccination Issue, so it's important as parents that we carefully look at what they are putting in those needles and how effective the vaccines are, then make our choice. If your only source is your doctor, well to be nice, you're probably not getting the whole story. The key to making an informed choice is being informed, and the only way to be truly informed is to look at all sides of the issue, using a variety of sources to gather your information. Guest guest
I would rather take the chances of my kids having vaccines. I am very distrubed over the emails I read about parents not getting them for their children. I think all one has to do it go back into history and that is proof enough that we should all thank god for them. Doctors are not perfect and neither are the rest of us. We have to go with what we have and hope that things are improved in the future. Both of my children have had high temps after taking vaccines. Maybe my sons speech problems have to do with vaccines, but if i had to do it all over i would again give him the vaccine because the I am not going to risk something that could be quite worse. Guest guest
It is a parents choice about vaccines, but when parents choose not to immunize their kids it puts the rest of us at risk because some immunizations do not take. I have read a lot about vaccines. My daughter had seizures, and I knew that I should ask about the DPT vaccine because kids with seizure disorders are at higher risks for having problems from the DPT vaccine. I also knew enough to ask about what type of vaccine to change to. Yes, I do rely on what my doctor's tell me. When they told me that my daughters would probably die if they ever caught whooping cough, I believed them. When they told me that the number of cases of whooping cough in our country is going up due to illegal immigration and people choosing not to immunize their children I believed them. I also do lots of research on the web. I've read a lot about the smallpox vaccine recently. I know that my daughter that has eczema is at high risk for having problems from the small pox vaccine. I'll have to talk to her doctor's about this before she would get the smallpox vaccine. > When it comes to vaccines and your children I think it's every parent's right > to make their own informed choice. Guest guest
I hope that your son's speech problems were not due to the vaccines. I was really scared about giving my daughter the DPT vaccine. Thank God, she didn't have any problems with it. Thanks for the supporting message. It just scares me when I see people really blasting vaccines. They really are miracles, and I thank God for the people that discovered them. > I would rather take the chances of my kids having vaccines.
