A plea to the Group: There is a need for us to help find participants

for a Research Project that Dr Amy Holmes and other Doctors and

Researchers are very excited about.

This particular project needs participants that do not have autism

(and some

other disorders) in their family..all the way to second cousins. You

will

need to call on your friends and neighbors, school and church friends

and any

contacts that you have who may have a son that meets the criteria

listed

below. The results of this study could be very important to our kids

with

autism.

The project entails collecting baby hair from boys without autism,

PDD, ADD,

ADHD,developmental delay, language delay, sensory integration

disorder -

anything remotely even resembling any of these or have any of these

disorders

in their family in first or second degree relatives.

Please read the criteria below and make a list of people you can

contact.

Make this a high priority so that this research can get under way

asap!

Note from Dr Amy

From each participant we must have:

1. Baby hair from boys (3 each born in years 1988 thru 1999)

2. These boys must not be affected by autism, PDD, ADD,

ADHD,developmental

delay, language delay, sensory integration disorder - anything

remotely even

resembling any of these or have any of these disorders in their

family in

first or second degree relatives.

3. We can only use one boy from a family...no brothers/no cousins

4. The baby hair must be their first hair cut and have been cut

between 15

and 24 mos of age.

5. These boys must have been fully vaccinated on schedule.(no delay

over two

weeks due to illness)

6. They must have had the Hep B vaccine in the hospital at time of

birth.

This is essential!!!

7. A copy of the child's vaccine record so we can total the Hg

received.

The child's name will not be used except to track the report in our

office

and tie the vaccine record to the hair report.

8. The boy himself also must have completely NORMAL development - no

language

delays, etc.

9. The boy must be healthy - no asthma, severe allergies, Type I

diabetes,

food intolerances, seizure disorder, etc.

Please ask the parents to sent the hair ( 0.2 g of hair is enough to

fill up

the bowl of a teaspoon, when the hair is of compressed....as much as

you can

give us..in a zip

his shot records that includes dates of vaccination, manufacturer and

lot #
