Guest guest
Hi Dani... Thanks for the good words! So nice to know that there are people to talk to! I hope that things get better for you and your family. So like me, you have 3 children and you have to make your time for all of them. That is hard, but it can keep you going to not keep your mind on these things all day long. Ofcourse it is always on our minds but, it comes and goes to make us stronger. Best of luck to you and especially today!!! michelle Welcome! You've come to the right place. I'm usually the " wallflower " in this family, I just lurk and soak up as much information as I can. The first three days I was on this list I learned more and got more support than I had available to me in my son 's year of therapies. The resources you need are here. You will be amazed at the responses you will receive. Dani, mom to , 7 (just fine!) , 2.6 (speech delay, hypotonia, poss. SID, dev. delays) , 1.7 (fmr. 31 weeker, hypertonia, gross motor delays, speech delay) P.S. Many of us are waiting for the angelic sound of " Mommy " , I am currently referred to as " Dah-ee " Hang in there! P.P.S. OFF TOPIC- I'm 30 today, AND NOT HANDLING IT VERY WELL AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!! Guest guest
Hello My Valentines present came in the form of a 3.10 year old bundle of energy. It was a couple of nights before Valentines & I was laying with to get him to sleep. Out of no where came the most wonderful thing. He rolled over & said " I wuv ou Mommy " I got teary eyed!! Before that I had been maaa for the last few months, even that was great to me. Over the last few months I am so amazed at 's vocab. I have really lost count!! He is now putting 3 & 4 words together to make sentences. Still the words do consist of mostly vowels, but the constanants are coming slowly. If someone had talked with me just 5 or 6 months ago I would have been not too optomistic! I remember lurking on the talking page & thinking will never be able to talk like some of these kids. For us 1 year of therapy has paid off greatly & 5 months of Pro Efa even better! His slp is really amazed at his progress, she has other apraxic kids & says she has seen nothing like this in the others. He can now blow bubbles, move tongue in & out, back & forth & seems to have much more facial expression when talking now. It is so great, just hang in there. The rewards are worth being patient for!!! Tammy I. in FL mom to 3.10 apraxic, 6, 17 stuttered severly of young child & 21, 4 of the greatest gifts a mom could have!!!! Guest guest
Congratulations on 's success. You must be overjoyed. Hearing " I love you " from your child is the ultimate present for any parent. Tell to keep up the good work.
