Evaluation documents should be offered at least a few days before

the IEP meeting, by all means request copies a few

days before the IEP. Request them in advance.

If you haven't received them before the IEP to read thru them.

By all means reschedule your IEP meeting.

**You also should have notice 10 days by mail when your

IEP meeting will be and the time.

If its not workable you can reschedule it.

These are documents that you are entitled to have, they

are your child's records!

If the teacher, therapists all have copies, you should too!

You should also receive a draft copy of the IEP, this only

makes since so that all parties have time make suggestions.

**You can call an IEP review every month if you so desire,

that's what we have these laws written for under IDEA;

Individuals Disability Educational Act, 1997.

Because the policy and procedures for each state are

different, I would suggest all of you parents to request

a copy of the guidelines from your State Dept of Education

in your state were your child attends school.

And all educational records must be made

available at the parents request, no records can be

destroyed without contacting you prior to destruction.

( That includes any records on PC's that discuss your

childs education, at the school between teachers, therapist

and anyone else in the distr.)
