Guest guest
I know it seems a little early to start planning for this but with our school system--we have to. I have an IEP scheduled for APril 11. At that time the need for extended school year will come up. Of course they will try to decline it and I will fight for it just like I did last year (which I FINALLY won) Last year my son was not talking at all. This year he is and is making progress. I want that to continue so of course I want the extended school year for ST. I can get a scrip from the doctors but they will just tell me they dont have to follow that. I can also get my private therapist to make a recommendation which again they dont have to follow. ----And, that will make them angry because they feel threatened by her. I just wanted to know if any of you have any suggestions as to what else I may want to take to the IEP with me to be prepared for a fight. (Yes, our school system is very difficult!)
