Guest guest
Where do you get the gaskets for those flip tops? I have several jars that gaskets are shot. I also find old wine bottles, and san Pellegrino bottles work well www.Majesty Farm.com " Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. When we first started drinking kt, we bought it in the store for $3.79 a bottle, the ones we bought are by the brand name GT's original (plain) or Synergy by GT's which is plain kt with fruit juice added. We certainly couldn't afford to drink kt like we do now at that price, and knowing that I eventually wanted to make my own kombucha at home, I kept all of my GT's (Synergy) bottles, (24 of them) and I used them for a good 6 months (by taking extra gentle care of them) and still have some that I use to bottle up kt with, although when they finally started to have the enamel scratched off, I had to break down and buy the flip-top bottles. By the way, for everyone who is wondering how the cobalt flip top bottles are doing, they are working out fine. I still have to buy the ceramic tops for them from grolsch, so am being very careful not to allow the kt to touch the top of the lid. You definitely want to add something to each bottle - ginger, berries, other fruit, or a little sugar - to help get the carbonation going.I leave the bottles out for 2-3 days and then refrigerate them after that.Remember to open the bottles each day to release the gas! Bev has beenwarning everyone of possible explosions if you don't....Good luck!Charity > > > > > > __________________________________________________________ > Time for vacation?
