Guest guest
Hi All, I just bottled my third batch of kombucha and I have to say I'm hooked. Due to hectic work schedule this last batch had to go past the 7 days I let my first 2 batches brew. At 10 days, it was quite tart so I decided to juice some fresh blackberries and blue berries to flavor it. I got about 1/3 cup of serious juice and added it to the gallon batch before bottling. I was quite surprised when I poured it in and the whole batch fizzed in a lovely purple foam almost to the top of the container. It settled down quickly though and I have to say that the results are quite tasty. Looking forward to trying other fruit flavors now but I have to say that the ones I've flavored with fresh ginger juice are probably always going to be my favorite. Reminds me of the expensive GT Kombucha that got me started with this. I really enjoy reading all the posts here and gaining knowledge from the " gurus " of the group. Thank you all! Guest guest
Hello all, I think I am the most fresh member of this beautiful group Just got in yesterday... I have been trying to brew KT for years and until very recently never had a good batch... In last couple of months I have been brewing and playing with it a lot:) and I drink a lot of it:) I have a question for the ''gurus'' of the group too... Could some of you please tell me what is the best way of adding the flavor(fruits and berries) to KT after first brewing? For instance; Do we add the berries and let it sit for a few days? and bottle it afterward? or do we just add the berries and bottle it right away? I thank you all in advance for your time and information... namaste naciye the ones that are hardest to love are the ones that need it the most... _____ From: kombucha tea [mailto:kombucha tea ] On Behalf Of Ray Sent: Monday, August 04, 2008 11:46 PM kombucha tea Subject: 3rd batch & loving it Hi All, I just bottled my third batch of kombucha and I have to say I'm hooked. Guest guest
I always add flavoring to the bottle as I'm bottling it, then let it set at room temperature for several days (usually 5 to 10 days - remembering to burp them) before refrigerating. My latest experiment...I've added a few sprigs of lavender to a bottle. Could be strange, but *hey* it's an experiment. Haven't tasted it yet. -Patty ....what is the best way of adding the > flavor(fruits and berries) to KT after first brewing? > For instance; Do we add the berries and let it sit for a few days? and bottle it afterward? > or do we just add the berries and bottle it right away? >
