Guest guest
Hello I'm new to the group but not new to KT, been making it off and on for twenty years or so. I signed on to find the answer to a question I had and that was could a person use Arizona tea as the starter tea for a batch of KT. I just didn't have time to boil tea. Well I couldn't find an answer so I dumped a gallon of tea I got at the store (Arizona southern style sweet tea) in a jar and started a batch of KT. It seems to have worked good so far, I have a very healthy young scoby on top and the mother has floated to the bottom. I need to give it another few days then I'll know how good it is to drink. Yes this cost a little more, little over $2 gallon but saved time and the mess in the kitchen. And they claim this is an all natural tea. I'm interested if anyone else has done the same thing or used the nice gallon plastic bottles the Arizona Tea comes in for storing their KT and if so how it worked.
