i just brewed what i think is my absolute best batch of tea. i used a compressed

brick of tea i got from the happyherbalist.com . i just break off a chunk and it

makes a very dark, tasty fresh tea, and the KT (17 days of brewing) was

wonderful. it was all i could do not to give into immediate gratification and

drink it all! instead, i used it to start 3 more gallons. eddie at HH has all

kinds of great teas. the white silver needle makes a very light, smoothly mellow

KT. His black and green blend is the perfect blended tea. every tea i have

bought from him has been wonderful, and you use less of it because it is pure

leaf tea, not cut and sifted like many you buy in the store. and its organic. he

sells nice little cotton drawstring bags (about $1.30) that are re-usable and

easy to use.

my advice before jumping into brewing is to taste a little KT. GT Dave's Synergy

seems to be the standard. then if you like it, proceed with your own brew. some

people just go " yuck, how do you drink that? " one of my daughters and my husband

were instantly hooked, my other two daughters act like i tried  poison them with

an evil witches brew - lol

there have been several recent postings on this group of people willing to send

out a scoby for shipping costs, so i am sure someone will have one for you.

i cant answer your questions about antioxidants, but this tea by its very nature

is full of good things for you. start with a good quality tea and you'll get

lots of benefit from it.

happy brewing
