Guest guest
I have some questions regarding drooling. My 3 year old son , who has severe oral and verbal dyspraxia (We are in Australia, hence dyspraxia not apraxia). drools quite badly and I'm concerned that as he gets older - he may be picked on. Here are my questions: 1. Does removing adenoids affect drooling? 2. Has anyone had real sucess with reducing drooling through oral exercises? 3. What is Biotin? 4. Has anyone had there child looked at by an ear nose and throat specialist, and if so, has anyone been told that there child is producing excessive saliva? If anyone has had any kind of success with reducing drooling - what ever method - please post - I need some other avenues to persue. Guest guest
Leigh, my son also has oral and verbal apraxia, and drooled until he was almost four years old. We did a lot of oral motor exercises with his OT. He has hypotonia as well, which I think also contributed to the problem. He no longer drools, but I am not sure if it was due to the exercises or if he just " outgrew " the problem. Amy
