Guest guest
Did you know that the white sugar consumers are purchasing at the store is now being made from genetically-modified sugar beets? It's just one more reason to avoid refined sugars and processed foods. Guest guest
Oh no, another blow! Thanks for bringing this to our attention! Would demerara sugar be safe, or does it come from the same source? Guest guest
Read your packaging and see if it gives you a source. Just buy what says it is 100% CANE sugar. There are a couple well known brands out there. One of them even specifies on its lable that there is no beet sugar in it... Demera sugar, by definition, should be made from cane, but, who knows in this world today? So I would double check it. Go to the manufacturers web site and see what they say, or e-mail them and ask if the question is not addressed. Guest guest
I have tried the turbinado sugar and it did not work for me, buy the organic small grain pure cane sugar and you won't have a problem. I would like to know if the demerara works cause I can get the organic in that too. Thanks
Guest guest
I have used demerara sugar, it works well and adds a nice flavor to the brew. I have also used Nr 2 grade maple syrup - usually 25 % maple syrup and 75 % sugar, very pleasant! Good luck!
