Guest guest
Stacey, you're in NJ right? What town is the Montessori school in? When my daughter was 2 and 1/2 I checked out one but it sounds very different from your's and they were very rigid. I would be interested in finding out about yours though. thanks, Carolyn
Guest guest
My son attends Montessori school and we love it. My son does not have apraxia but is PDD. He is 2 1/2 and is in preschool program. We chose the Montessori school because of it's loving and nurturing environment and also because they let the children choose their activities without the pressure to join in on group activities. Having PDD, my son has trouble with social areas and this was a big thing for us. He would not sit in circle time at other schools or story time and every other school seemed to center around large group activities. In Montessori, each child picks their own activity and there is no pressure to perfom. They also teach him things like: manners- cleaning up after yourself- for little boys, they try to teach things like opening doors for little girls etc. We love it and so does my son. stacey Hi everyone Just thought I'd see if anyone else has there child in the Montessori School I went to a support group trip today and one of the mothers suggested I try this. I just wondered if anyone else had their child in this schooling system. Michele
