I use the PUR water filter that attaches right on to my kitchen sink faucet. After rinsing under the filtered water, I then sprayed both sides of the scoby with distilled vinegar. I did not have enough starter so I used distilled white vinegar instead. After four days, there is no sign of a baby. I read on the internet that using white vinegar is ok and will take longer than using regular starter would, but after four days of nothing, I am getting really nervous. What is it about white vinegar that makes it take longer than using regular starter? Did the rinse under ther faucet harm the scoby in any way? Is there hope?
