most filters remove sediment and chlorine. from what i have read, if you want to

remove flouride and other substances, you have to do reverse osmosis or

distilling. there are a couple of other options but they are very expensive. do

a web search on removing flouride, and you will get a lot of info to sort

through to try to determine which option is best for your needs (and your

pocketbook!)

Subject: Water filter versus distilled water

Hi, all!

I'm looking at purchasing a whole house water filtration system

(http://www.aquasana store.com/ aq-whole- house.html). Would that be okay

for making my Kombucha? Right now I use distilled water to add to my

tea that I brew (I brew 1 quart of tea and add 3 quarts of distilled

water to cool it down) to put into my brewing crock (to make the tea, I

just use filtered water because I boil it).

I can't find anything that says how this filter compares to distilled

water. Any thoughts out there?
