charlie - I have a fantastic lotion recipe that I can share with you if you are

interested. It does not include KT but you could probably just replace the water

with the KT. Let me know if you are interested in my recipe.

I am interested in your fantastic lotion recipe. If you don't mind sharing the

knowledge I would gladly try it.

Thank you,

- I would also greatly appreciate your knowledge sharing of this lotion

you have developed. My grandson is having a nasty time this year with allergies

and although he loves the k-tea...I would love to have something on hand that we

know won't react.

Thanks so much for your posting.

Hi EveryOne,

Seems there is a lot of interest in 's recipe....I wrote to her a

few days ago giving her permission to post her recipe to the list and

put it in the FILES section as well.

No need for anyone else to write to the list about it..I am sure she

will post it when she gets a chance.

Peace, Love and Harmony,

Bev

Hi Everybody! I am so sorry! I've been busy and I had no idea people were

clammoring for my recipe. I hate to disappoint, but it's just a regular recipe -

not a recipe made with KT. I'm cutting and pasting what I wrote to Charlie and

would be happy to answer any questions, but like I said - I have never made it

with KT - just water.

Here's the link to the recipe I use. It was the first lotion

recipe I ever tried and it's fantastic! This makes about an 8 oz container

full. I do make some adjustments. Check out the link and then come back to

this email and you'll better understand my adjustments.

http://www.rainbowmeadow.com/infocenter/rbow_recipes/recipe_view2.asp?RN=10

I always round up. I have a digital scale for weighing my oils and other

ingredients, but I like rounding up. So when it says 4.8 I round up to 5.

When it says .4 I round up to .5. I'd rather deal with whole and half ounces

rather than other increments. Also, when they say fractionated coconut oil -

I didn't realize the difference. I used my regular coconut oil (melted in

the microwave until barely melted). It works fantastic, but after a few days

gets very thick - more like a cream than a lotion. Works great if you put it

in a jar - hard to get out if you use a lotion bottle. I was not using

fractionated, but that one is thinner, I guess. I've never used it though.

The recipe suggests other middle weight oils - one of those would probably

work better if you want a thinner lotion. I have doubled this recipe (to

make 16 oz) and it works beautifully. Where the recipe says " allow to cool

to 110 degrees " I always take the bowl my hot ingredients are in and put it

in a larger bowl full of ice water (be careful not to fill the ice water too

full or it may spill over into the oils). Then I use a candy thermometer.

Watch it carefully (and stir with a plastic or wooden spoon while it's

cooling). It will cool pretty fast this way. Be ready with the open

containers. If using essential oils and/or preservative (natural or

synthetic) add that right before you use the stick blender. Then blend! For

me it's kind of a rush. LOL. I love seeing the water blended into the oils

and how they emulsify to form the lotion. Fun to make and fantastic for

sensitive skin. IF you are not using a preservative - keep an eye on it. I

have had a couple mold on me without preservative after a few months. With

preservative I have never had one mold. Without preservative (especially if

it's stored in the fridge) it may last you a few months, but be cautious. I

have a friend who used grapefruit seed extract and it worked great as a

natural preservative for her. She never had anything mold. If you are using

KT for the liquid or part of the liquid - I cannot guarantee that it won't

start growing baby scobies. I have never tried it. Maybe Bev would be able

to answer that question for you. Let me know if you have any questions! And

please let me know if it turns out.
