Guest guest
Jack being my first I was pretty active, I did not change my activity level until about 7 1/2 months, I was very large so large in fact that people thought I was having twins. Then I was not so active. Jack's situation was different that I thought the reason for his Apraxia was a birth related issue. He was 3 weeks early, I pushed for 3 hours and then his shoulders got stuck. He ended up with a Brachial Plexus injury which is when the nerves that are attached to the spinal cord to the arm and shoulder are damaged, there are different severities of this and luckily Jack's nerves were just torn. He still at almost 3 does not have full extension of his elbow but it has not adversily affected the use of this arm. I was totally convinced that this injury of his nerves was the reason he had low muscle tone in his face, drooling, and speech issues etc. I questioned his pediatric neurologist who was a total idiot, when he saw Jack at 2 I asked him why he thought he may be not speaking and it seemed to me he was having trouble with his mouth, he said that he is fine and would be taling in no time he is just late. I still sometimes think that there is a connection but do not know for sure. Eileen
