Guest guest
Hello -- response to the survey -- I was active with my pregnancy and worked/commuted to Manhattan for the whole term. I Was 1) Induced 2) Vacum Suction was used after a prolonged pushing period. I know of 4 additional friends/acquaintances that had vacum suction that have children with " soft signs " (hypotonia, protusion of tongue, few words, etc) Then I looked on the internet and the FDA has a warning on its use. My son had lacerations from the suction and his plates moved enough that his " soft spot " was very tiny..... Anyway. I don't believe in coincidence and I tell everyone pregnant woman that I care about this story because -- Why do such a high percentage of pregancies have to be induced? Also, how can a doctor first mention this when you are in extremis already? and then tell you it won't hurt your baby to use the vacum suction. I don't believe it. Of course, when you share this opinion with medical professionals, they can't really quite look you in the eye because even though they tell you " Oh there was probably a problem with the baby already " -- this mom is just not buying it! thank you for listening and caring because I am always reading and sharing the journey with you. Most of my energy is spent looking forward, but sometimes you just wish it would have been different. Maybe if we pursue this dicussion long enough, others will be spared this long road. Thank you lois
