Guest guest
Hello everyone, my son Josh, goes the the children's therapy center in fairlawn. They have children with cp/autism and other disorders where chidren use strollers, scooters in order to help them get around. I was there at the montvale roller rink because they were having an outing for the children. We met at 9:30am untill 12:30pm. It was so much fun!! Children in strollers were having races, ie strollers, walking and roller skating too. Even though some of the children hadn't ever been on roller skates (like Josh) before. We had the whole rink to ourselves, the music was very soft as were the lights. Some of the children put on the roller skates like josh and skated around the rink, being held by his hand for 3 hours straight, no breaks. Even some of the children who had sensory issues had a ball and were not crying. I spoke to the manager, whose name is Bill and he said he would be glad to do it for the support group. Many children brought their own lunch, but there also is a snack bar also. The manager was wonderful there was no charge for the skates for the children or adults, who wanted to skate. Mind you I haven't been on roller skates 17 years, and I had a blast. My question is, would any of you consider this fun place to have an event, on a Sat/Sun? Please let me know if you'd think if this is something you would consider attending.
