Guest guest
It will be bad for your Kombucha if your tap water has chlorine in it. If it does you will need to do something to alleviate that... Guest guest
12/09/2008 You will be fine, but your Kombucha will be damaged by chlorine. (Chlorine kills Kombucha bacteria . . . ) So, JUST BOIL YOUR WATER FOR 7+ MINUTES (it's okay/good to add the sugar first), and then brew your tea, cool it all to room temperature, and go ahead with your Kombucha process. AND, it's good to boil filtered water, too, since those filters trap but do not kill or remove bacteria. And, change the filter's filter at least every six months. JUST BOIL YOUR TAP/FILTERED WATER, THAT'S ALL IT TAKES!!! Good luck, and best wishes, lem > > > To make a long story short I have ripped out the > > Whirlpool Reverse Osmosis water filter and am about to > > use tap water to brew K-Tea. Guest guest
What about well water? I use a Brita filter on our well water - and we do have a water softener that runs every two days for the higher iron content. Can I use this by just filtering it and without boiling? _____ From: kombucha tea [mailto:kombucha tea ] On Behalf Of lemberkeley Sent: Tuesday, December 09, 2008 11:21 PM kombucha tea Subject: Re: Am I Gonna Die from Using Tap Water ? 12/09/2008 You will be fine, but your Kombucha will be damaged by chlorine.
