Guest guest
About the gagging, has anyone looked at her adenoids? My 3 year old (with no medical problems) always gagged and choked, I thought he was careless as he was 1, and also he snored excessively and had little gasps while sleeping. A couple of doctors thought asthma, until one actually looked at him instead of talking at me, turned out his adenoids were so large he barely had room to breathe while upright, never mind laying down. They were removed and no problem since then. Magically, he is the only one of my children to not have had an ear infection since 1 yr. old. It is a shot in the dark, Avery is otherwise healthy and my apraxic son doesn't have major sensory issues so I am not familiar with that, but it may be worth having your doctor look at it next time you are there. It couldn't hurt, anyway. , mom of Riley, 6, apraxia > I was wondering if anyone else might have this problem. My 2.10 month > old has been seeing a ST with EI since Dec. Guess it falls into traditional learning tracks -- gag reflex. good luck. Sue in Michigan
Guest guest
My son gags real bad too, even when I brush his teeth. At Halloween, my husband was carving a pumpkin with him and our daughter and letting them pull the insides out of the pumpkin, well he threw up right there at the touch of the insides and the smell I guess, which wasn't a bad smell. He can smell his own bad diaper and gag. He had severe Reflux for 14 mos, but now it is resolved. I think it is a sensory issue too. Some textures of food do that to him too.
