Guest guest
Hello group, When I brew my kt, the scoby used to fall to the bottom of my sun tea jar and a perfect baby scoby would form across the top of the brew. Mother at the bottom and baby at the top. Lately, when I drop the mother in, it does not fall to the bottom. It floats to the top. When the new baby forms, it is in competition with the mother because both are occupying the same space. The finished brews are good, but the mother and baby are attached together. The baby is always very thin and often only a small piece is produced instead of a full round robust offspring. They look very inadequate and I have been discarding them. I am concerned because I want to have a few back up scobys but these babies do not look like they would be able to make a good kt brew.
