Guest guest
I do love to read this digest! Every day new people join the list but it seems that each time we hear similar things.......I had never met someone with a child with the same presentation as my son until I came to this list and was shocked to hear the same concerns and descriptions! I had met MANY people with children with special needs and many children themselves with special needs but never one that fit so closely in description with my son as the children described on this list! Late potty training (he stopped having accidents at 5 1/2) and gross motor skills that are there but just not the quality of the average kid....the tonsils/adenoids being removed....the sleeping difficulties.....the stuttering.....the searching for words....the inconsistencies in performance....the sense of humor....the sensory issues....and the list goes on and on. It is so comforting to know that even though the schools and universities and hospitals and medical people are all baffled because your child doesn't " fit into just one box " that there are other moms and dads and families coping with kids just like yours, raising them, loving them, enjoying them and just continuing to look for ways to help them. Thanks to everyone for sharing their stories.....if we keep talking maybe we will be able to help direct the research to find some answers sooner rather than later.
