Guest guest
, Let me know how many people you need for that room # bargain, I'm in for it, too! Trudy ) Picnic We are definitely planning on coming to the picnic! Has anyone thought of picking a hotel (or a couple of hotels probably) that we can use as MGB Central? They might give us a break on the rooms if we guaranteed a certain number. Also - wonder if we could get away with using Med-Stay???? Guest guest
Trudy, Someone in Durham needs to start checking with a few hotels. For conferences I know that if we will guarantee a certain number of rooms they will sometimes give us their " lowest " discounted rate. I will only need 1 room (may or may not bring the kids!) Guest guest
I will be staying overnight because I will be coming from the Atlanta area - will come in Friday and leave Sunday. I would assume that there will be lots of people coming in from out of town and think it would be great if we were pretty much in one hotel! Guest guest
About the picnic-- I am planning on flying in early Thursday and attending clinic and then staying over for the picnic. I can't wait! I would love to find a hotel for all of us. In fact, I have called MedStay to see if we would be able to use their rates. They are going to call me back. Hawthorn Suites has 2 bedroom suites with an additional sofa sleeper in the living room that we can share. Or I am open to any other suggestions. Maybe there are hotels closer to the picnic site? I have no idea. I am really looking forward to attending clinic again. I figured I will go for my " 9 month " checkup instead of the year. If anybody else will be there early please let me know so we can " hook up " . Margaret in St. Louis MGB 12/13/00 250 / 175 > Hi Everyone! > Did I miss somthing about the picnic? Guest guest
Tricia, I live in Fredericksburg, and according to which airport you fly into is how long it takes to get to my house, but about an hour from National, the closest airport, depending on traffic of course. I live about 3 hours from Durham, depending on how fast I drive. I wouldn't suggest a straight drive from DC to Durham to anyone. manda > > In a message dated 7/9/01 9:58:26 PM, eskieluvr@p... writes: > > <<I doubt anyone will need this, but I thought I'd put it out there, > just in case. Guest guest
Joni, This is a great idea!!!!!!!!!! It would help me out a lot too. My husband doesn't really want us to go because of the money. If I didn't have to stay as long maybe we could go. I want to have a post op check with Dr. R. but we can't afford to be gone that long either. Hope he will be able to do it. I think there will be an awful lot of people that would want him to see them on Monday though. Bonded by our experience, strength and hope Rhonda MGB - 11/30/00 279/209/??? ______________________________________________________________________ I have emailed Dr.R asking if he would be able to see the out of towners on Monday. Have not gotten a response as of yet. Joni

Guest guest
If you go to www. and then go to our group click on " database " on the lefthand side. If you haven't already done so enter your information for the picnic. Last count there were already at least 45 people there! in GA picnic Did anyone ever decide to get a count on how many are coming to the picnic? Guest guest
To whom do we have to mail our money and how much? I'm going to the picnic, but have been busy moving so I haven't really paid attention. Will my evil twin Jon be there? Pox, Steve
Guest guest
Steve, All of the information about the picnic is on the www.clos.net web site. If you haven't registered your information on the " picnic database " on the groups site do so --- it is great to be able to look there and see who is coming. I believe Jon (the good twin) is coming! in GA RE: picnic To whom do we have to mail our money and how much? I'm going to the picnic, but have been busy moving so I haven't really paid attention. Guest guest
>>somedays you get to be the " good one " ! Actually it's more like a Bruce Wayne/Batman kind of thing, if you get my drift. Have you ever noticed that nobody has ever seen the two of us together? Gotta run. Commissioner Gordon's on the Batphone again. Guest guest
Hi everyone. I don't seem to be having luck scheduling the picnic. the 18th and 19th of May don't seem to be good dates for anyone. June 8th seems to be a better date. However where? It could be at my house or I'm giong to talk to a membr about a park I was at yesterday in wynnewood. Maybe that could work. I am sorry to keep giong round and round. Please get back to me one more time about this date. and i'll let you know about the place. If this doesn't work then I would suggest a mom's night out during the week. Please remember we have a meeting May 15th on The prompt Method. Please RSVP regarding both issues. thank you Mauri Blefeld
