Guest guest
I received this info today distributed by PACER Center and National Coalition of Parent Centers: Connie Garner from Senator Kennedy's staff said this week that the House under Representative Boehner from Ohio is NOW planning on having an IDEA bill this year. There may be a bill available after the White House Commission report is issued in June. There are two hearing set in the House on IDEA---March 13 on Funding, etc. and one in April on Early Childhood. The Senate is working on a bipartisan bill and has set up work groups on various topics. There are two hearing set in the Senate on IDEA with Senator Kennedy as the chair. The first one is March 21 on IDEA implementation. It will be from 10 a.m. - 12 noon, Labor Committee in room 428 of the Dirksen Building, Washington, D.C. The second Senate Hearing is April 25 on discipline from 10 a.m. to 12 noon in Room 428 of the Dirksen Building, Wash., D.C.
