This photo was taken by a soldier in Afghanistan of a helo rescue mission. The pilot is a PA Guard guy who flies EMS choppers in civilian life. Now how many people on the planet you reckon could set the ass end of a chopper down on the roof top of a shack on a steep mountain cliff and hold it there while soldiers load wounded men in the rear??? If this does not impress you ... nothing ever will. Gives me the chills and a serious case of the vertigo ... I can't even imagine having the nerve ... much less the talent and ability ... God Bless our military!!!!!

My Husband Allan!! Who was a senior flight engineers before retiring from the Army.. The CH 47 is very impressive he. Kathy

It's amazing gave me goose bumps and reminded me of all the rescues done here. "God Bless our military!!!!!" ...... and 1st Responders - EMT's - Paramedics - Fire - Police and Special Forces here in the states. God Bless Them All. Deb

My Father is also retired from the Army. He retired as a BG, started as a PFC. He's a Master Army Aviator fixed wing and rotary. He flew Huey's, Cobra's and LOCH's. He teaches for the FAA now.

Considering the Chinook weighs over 23,000 lbs. empty it's quite an amazing feat.

OH lucky you....What the crew members are doing is slope landings. Bruce misses flying quite a bit..I miss living near the flight line myself at times.. But have adapted to life in the civilian world. And the medical helps a bit.. Kathy
