Guest guest
Thanks everyone for the replies. It has been very difficult trying to figure out what to do for Aliyah 2.11. I have tried looking for an Apraxia specialist in NYC, that's where I live, to no avail. I spoke to but I just want to hear from parents who have gone to the center. I am interested in doing the summer program of intensive therapy. I am so eager to get her the proper speech therapy that I am willing to go to MI, it will be very difficult financially but I think at this point I will do anything to hear her say MOMMY as long as it is safe. She has been receiving SP for a year she is up to 5x a week and still nothing, it doesn't seem like she has any other problem except that she still can't jump or run. Someone mentioned the Montclair University in NJ I called them today and they will be sending me information. I have got to say that I have really tried looking in the city and it has been horrible one ST told me if she specialized in Apraxia only she would be poor after that I guess I gave up looking in the city. P.S. I will look up Dr. Agin and see what happens. Thank you Sandy

Guest guest
Hi , we did. We sent the video of a therapy session (about 60 min) to Kaufman's attention. In 2 days I received a call from her. She was able to give me advice why my daughter will not benefit from her program now, and suggested we see Sara Rosenthal for oral motor assessment of which we did. I was amazed on how much she could observe from that taping. It was a big help to us. Amelia Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry [ ] Kaufman Center Hello, Does anyone have experience with the Kaufman Center? Has anyone ever sent a video of their child in for evaluation and recommendations? TIA,
Guest guest
Hello, Thanks for the response. Apart from the phone call, did she send any documentation or directional input aside from the therapist referral? Guest guest
also sent her advice in a letter to us, basically recaptured what she said on the phone. I don't remember if I requested it or is part of the evaluation but you can check with the center. Hope this helps.
