Guest guest
M. stated " since by law in the United States children are not allowed to enter the public school system unless they provide proof that their youngster has received their immunizations and have been examined by a physician " Just wanted to clarify for the list that children in the United States can enter the public school system WITHOUT vaccines, if the proper vaccine exemption forms have been filled out. And nowhere in the law does it state that a child must have been examined by a physician prior to entering school. The law is such that the vaccines ARE required, but a vaccine waiver can be obtained and exempt your child from having to have any/or all vaccines. Please check with your particular state, there are medical, religious, and personal exemptions to the vaccination requirements. All school districts should have these forms in the office available to parents, but do not usually offer them, you have to ask. Or contact your state's health department, vaccine division, and request an exemption form if you, for whatever reason, decide that further vaccines or boosters are not in the best interest of your child. The school HAS to accept properly filled-out vaccine waiver forms, and will file them with the state health department. Your child WILL be allowed to attend school as long as the proper paperwork is on file. The only thing is that if there is a disease outbreak of a particular disease that your child has not been immunized for, you may have to keep your child at home during the outbreak.
