Re: ProEFA increase?/New UK info from Dr. Stordy!

Hi Michele and everyone!

Unfortunately until specific research is done on various doses or

formula's or brands of EFAs your questions about dosage are not

easily answered. There are some stated out there now -but until

research is done on communication with EFAs -what they find correct

today can be off tomorrow as you know.

For now -I suggest looking at recommended dosages (compare the DHA,

EPA, GLA etc) from those EFA products which are researched like

Efalex with the ProEFA -which appears to be the best formula out

there for most so far. ProEFA -is not yet researched so the dosage

on the bottle is not able to be more than one or two a day. I can

tell you that my family personally has seen greater results on a

higher dosage -and we recently have discovered a new addition that we

give our children in addition to the ProEFA based on current research

in the UK. We have seen great results with this as well personally

and have shared this with just a handful of others -some of whom

already also have seen the increased surge. I compare the surge like

that between Efalex and ProEFA. Brand names matter only to ensure

purity of the oil, other than that - the formula is really the only

thing that matters. I'm sad to say I've used my own son Tanner as a

guinea pig through trial and error to find the dosage that " works "

for him -and I'm also happy to say that it's working amazing -so it

ended up being worth it. I just wish we as parents didn't have to do

this and just like cough medicine or fluoride -we could just be told

what dosage is best for our children. Rent Lorenzo's Oil if you need

some inspiration to the road ahead with " oil therapy " and research

right now! We may not be as behind as they were back then (thank you

internet!) but we are still way in the dark ages considering the

overwhelming amounts of anecdotal successes in such short periods of

time, and how some of the competitions of who does what can end up

hurting the children. If fish oil was a drug -you know many more of

the pharmaceuticals would be jumping on it -and way more than now

(it's harder to patent something like fish oil formula's -but as an

inventor myself -I know it can be done with a bit of creativity and

of course knowing the " right " formula for most which is priceless)

For those of you in the UK -I have a forwarded email below about The

LCP Solution book that may be of interest if you haven't yet read

it! Dr. Stordy, who has been wonderful in answering some

of our questions here to our group is probably the main researcher to

thank for raising awareness about the use of Essential Fatty Acids

for treating children with verbal apraxia.

Here is the US -the term dyspraxia and apraxia are used

interchangeable -but in other parts of the country the term dyspraxia

is used for motor planning issues of the body -or as it used to be

called " the clumsy child syndrome " Of course -just like verbal

apraxic (or verbal dyspraxic children) as they are called in the US

sometimes have motor planning issues in the body -some of the

children researched with " global " dyspraxia -also had motor planning

disorders of speech. Through the internet, then just like now -

amazed parents shared their children's successes, researchers and

professionals published research findings, papers, articles and

abstracts were quoted on websites, grouplists, message boards, and

through personal emails, etc. which thankfully spread, eventually to

all of us as well (for anyone who has their child on EFAs to witness

the results -which is most of those who try -you know what I

mean!!) Hopefully the news of how EFAs -or LCPs or PUFA or Omega

3/6 and how they can help bring children a smile and a voice will

continue to spread to the rest of the world soon. Just think how

this will change so many children's lives once more people know! If

only some of it could all be put in a book for those people who are

not online...

The LCP Solution is easy to understand and read through, and it's

also a great book to share with your child's teachers, therapists and

doctors if they do not understand about why you would want to try oil

therapy for your child Even though it's easy to read for a lay

person -it's credible enough for a professional without the dryness -

so next time someone says - " fish oil?! " just hand them this book.

because even though we really don't know for a fact who the original

source is that all of us can thank for this -I would love to thank

the most likely original EFA scientist who has helped in the area of

communication due to her work in dyspraxia - Dr. Stordy.

EFAs have so helped my family, especially my apraxic son Tanner, so

much. Knowledge is also powerful -so for The LCP Solution book - I

want to thank Dr. Stordy and Malcolm Nicholl!

anyone will ever see this - hope you do, and hope EFAs, the LCP
