Guest guest
Years before we knew about the benifits of EFA's We did the oral motor exercises, slow progress. When our son was 3 yrs old I wanted the drooling to stop and would tie Bandanas around his neck to keep him dry and he also looked cute. But what helped in one short month to stop the drooling was Crainal Sacral treatment 4 days a week for a month. However when our son caught a cold and couldn't breath well, the drooling came back only temporarily during his colds. **Not all Dr's who do this work are created equal, takes one who knows his/her craft. Upledger Inst.; in Palm Beach Gardens,FL. is a good place to go for help. Allie
Guest guest
Ann Marie, I just started my son on supplements on the 13th of April...today is day 8...we were reading a book this evening about puppies and he pointed to the picture and said puppy clear as day..we have been doing ST for 6 months and his only new word has been up and saying the vowels very well..I will have to keep you posted but we were very happy this evening..Dixie mom to 3.1 [ ] Re: drooling , I just wanted to ask when you started Liam on the EFAs? My daughter, Jenna will be 3 in July, we started ProEFA today- I just found out about it this week. How much was Liam talking before you started it? I have read quite a few messages on this site, but am still kind of skeptical that it could be so easy after over 2 years of therapy and frustration... I love to hear the success stories- not only of the supplements, but to also give us hope that Jenna will have functional communication skills. She has low tone, and just isn't quite talking- but babbles constantly, and is very social. As she gets closer to 3- I can really start to see the other kids noticing that something is not quite right with her (between the drooling, and the not talking, and then just the noises -babbling/squealing)... I just hope that with all of the therapy(speech 5x/wk, PT 2x and OT 2x), and now the EFAs, along with all of the oral motor stuff we do at home, that something will kick in and get her going... Thanks, Ann Marie --- In @y..., " Larry " <hugheslke@h...> wrote: > Hi > > My son Liam, now three, drooled all of the time. In his case after we started > the EFA's it stopped. Guest guest
One thing that helped my son, since his comprehension and receptive language is fine was REMINDING him to swallow frequently and keep his lips together. In fact, since he has motor apraxia all over his body, in most things, prompting him with verbal directions that are specific and understandable, helps him to jumpstart and do it. Or is this even a joint?>> I haven't had drooling. Matter of fact, I think I might have Sjorgen's Syndrome, because my eyes and mouth are very dry, and painfully dry when I flare. My lips are always cracked, in spite of using Clinique's All About Lips to condition them. My rheumy did say that RA can affect the jaw, though, so that might be why. I have another problem that I wonder is related to RA. In the last few months, I've started to drool during the night while asleep. When I wake up, the pillow or sheet is sometimes wet. Could this be from the RA affecting the jaw joint? Or is this even a joint? Sue
