Guest guest
Hi and Welcome! My advice: Always listen to your inner voice. You are the boss. Ask questions, explore every option. If you havent't contacted Early Intervention, then do that NOW. Don't allow them to take their sweet time, they will make you wait forever for an evaluation, signing papers, etc... Everyone will make you wait. One week here and there adds up fast!!! THere can be many steps to getting the right help for your son. Months can pass before you know it. Good Luck and welcome to the group! Amy -time between our first call to Early Intervention and first ST session was about 6 weeks. 6 weeks that we can't get back. Just something to think about. Guest guest
Hi , You are in the right place. I wish I had found this group when my son was 2. Go ahead and get his evaluations done. Early Intervention is a natiowide Birth - 3 program. The amount of therapy varies from state to state. They will test for fine motor, gross motor, social, speech and who knows what else! I always encourage people to get their own private evaluations in addition if they can swing it or through their insurance company. And what you said about your daughter, I know that feeling all too well. My daughter who is 20 months younger and is now 2 chats up a storm. It does encourage my son who is 3 yrs 9 months and does have words now. Hang in there and write with all your questions! denise > Hi there, > Just found this list after doing a search on " late talker " . My son > is 25 months old and not talking at all.
