Guest guest
Why not try the new formula out on the market? Mead johnson has recently come out with a new formula called Enfamil LIPIL containing DHA and ARA. As many of you know DHA is found in the EFA formulas. They are marketing it as " the only infant formula that has LIPIL, a blend of natural nutrients that may help optimize eye and brain development. Nutrients also found in breast milk but never before in US infant formulas. " For more info, check out the WEB site: http://www.enfamil.com/lipil/index.html > Want to start my newborn girl(3mos)on EFA's, 2 of 3 of my older > childred were undiagnosed speech? and I just started my 4yr old on > EFA complete. Guest guest
Hi, We started our son Jack (apraxic) efa's and saw the awesome results I started our younger son at 11 months. We had no problem and now is 17 months and still receives 1 a day and will start 2 a day very soon. Jack has 2 a day and almost 3. The reason I started to give it to my 11 month old was because while he started to say ma for MAMA and DA for Dada at 9 1/2 months he stopped for 1 months saying anything so I did not take a chance and decided to start him at 11 months 1 Pro-EFA a day and he is using 2 word sentences now like more cookie, and says words very clearly, better than JAck did even now sometimes I understand better, but JAck is also doing very well. Guest guest
Is your wife breastfeeding? Maybe it could be as easy as boosting her intake?? Any knowledge on that out there, anyone? And then think of adding supplements as your baby moves onto solids?? Just a thought. Guest guest
On supplementing your infant: Here is some information from my pediatrician Dr. Sears, author of " The Baby Book " and a dozen other books for parents at all major book stores. He told me when my son was born (before any Apraxia ever showed up) that I should be supplementing his formula with a product called Neuromins. You can buy this at the Health Food store. Just pierce the capsule and empty contents into formula or pumped breast milk. He said, all countries except the U.S. add these essential fatty acids to their formulas and that they are crucial to a healthy child. Back then, I didn't even know what an essential fatty acid was! It is supposedly expensive to add these so many formula companies have not done so in the past in the U.S. Apparently, Enfamil is coming out with a product that FINALLY contains what our children should have had from day one if you are using formulas. If you need more information, Dr. Sears has a web site where you can ask him more about Neuromins (Ask Dr. Sears.com) He is NOT making any money from the sale of these by the way. Neuromins are made by Natures Way (60 softgels, 100 mg of plant sourced DHA and sell for $18.00 in California). Obviously, Dr. Sears knowledge of the value of these supplements is ahead of many of his colleagues. He also has a great book entitled, " Family Nutrition " which is full of easy to read valuable information on what our children need to be healthy. I hope this may help you. I truly appreciate all the knowledge I have gained from listening to all of you. Thanks, Polny
