Guest guest
How old is your son? My son is almost 3 so I think he would choke if I asked him to swallow the gel cap. I'm looking forward to when he is older so he WILL be able to swallow it on his own.
Guest guest
FYI.. I was told by Nordic yesterday that EFA Complete is the equivalent to PRO EFA... i insisted on my first bottle being PRO EFA to compare from there.. -----Original Message----- Hello: Long time listener to this group, 1st time posting. I have chosen EFA complete from GNC to start my son on, anyone else have any experience with these? Also, I am reading all of these different ideas on how to pierce the gelcap and sneak it into food. I simply handed the gelcap to my son and he promptly swallowed it whole(gave some favorite juice to wash it down with).Am I missing something? Is there a reason to pierce the gelcap?Should I NOT be giving it to him whole to swallow? Thanks everyone for your posts.
Guest guest
I just started using them today and I told my son that it was like his other vitamins - but it was a little squishy like a gummy bear. He chewed and chewed, but finally swallowed it. I consider myself lucky, and hope this continues! As for the piercing, I think it's mostly bc children are rarely asked to swallow pills - and piercing it is the easiest way to do it. The gel on the outside is harmless - and unnecessary. Let us know your results! Marina > Hello: > Long time listener to this group, 1st time posting. I have > chosen EFA complete from GNC to start my son on, anyone else have any > experience with these? Guest guest
What a very lucky mom you are that your little one took the capsule. I have to put mine in Hayden's seizure meds, then use a oral syringe. That's the only reason to open the capsule, if your little ones will not swallow the capsule, or if they are to small to do so. Guest guest
How old is your son? My son is almost 3 so I think he would choke if I asked him to swallow the I just wanted to make a quick response to this. I have two children who can swallow pills, ages 5 years and 3 years. My 3 year old could swallow the Efalex but we were giving him 6 pills a day and occasionally with this supplement his overactive gag reflex would kick in and he would throw up everything. The Efalex is much smaller than the PROEFA. I switched him to PRO EFA and have to cut the capsule and place the oil in his milk or whatever. A three year old should be capable of swallowing a normal size pill such as a tylenol but our PRO EFA is just way to large to expect that from him. My 5 year old has done fine with swallowing them. Good luck Daphne
Guest guest
ProEFA is from the Professional line, and Ultimate Omega Complete Omega is Nordic Natural's commercial version of their ProEFA. Both the professional and the commercial line from Nordic Naturals are third person tested for purity. ProEFA and Complete Omega and are the same product, the only difference is who they sell what to. From their Web page. Ultimate Omega Complete Omega is the professional name and has these ingredients DHA per capsule: 99 mg. GLA: 40 mg EPA per capsule: 148 mg. Oleic Acid: 29mg. Other omega-3: 41 Vitamin E (mixed tocopherols) 9 IU The bottle says for positve mental outlook and joint mobility. Perhaps they sell it to GNC under another name so be sure to check the components to see if they are the same. > FYI.. > > I was told by Nordic yesterday that EFA Complete is the > equivalent to PRO EFA... i insisted on my first bottle > being PRO EFA to compare from there.. > > > -----Original Message----- > Hello: > Long time listener to this group, 1st time posting.
