Guest guest
Hi, Does anyone know of a good book for parents of apraxic kids? I'm looking for something that can give me ideas on how to teach my son to make specific sounds. He can't make the j, k, c, ch sounds and I need ideas on how to help him learn to make those sounds. His slp recently taught him how to say the g sound by having him stick his finger in his mouth a little bit while he was making the sound. This forced his mouth open and made him use the back of his tongue. I've waited a long time to hear that sound and it made my day. It's such a simple technique and I could have been working on it at home with him a long time ago had I been able to think of it myself. I know there must be a book out there that gives simple ideas on helping kids make certain sounds. If anyone knows of such a book, please let me know.
