Guest guest
Your 1st HCV test showed you were positive and do have Hep C. The bx showed you are in early stages with the normal inflammation process going on and your viral load at the time of testing. Your viral load and labs - liver enzyme testing ALT - AST and others does not stay the same it changes fluctuates goes up and down and the results are from that testing date only. If you have your copy of the lab results it should list the name of the tests done across your results and than the normal lab values and results for your lab and testing. You have Hep C it is active and showing inflammation early stages with a present viral load. Your treatment and your Hep C care all depends on the type of Dr's the Dr's choices and yours. If they suggested another bx in 5 years than they are going to follow-up with you in 5 years to see if you have progressed in stages by another bx. If your Hep C stays active the natural progression of the disease will continue and your Hep C will be doing it's thing usually without any symptoms or you feeling it until symptoms and problems pop up. You are a young woman your HCV is in early stages you probably have not had it for that long and only time will tell what your progression of the disease will do - how slowly - how fast - stay at an early stage for many years or hopefully go into remission. It is medically unknown at this time. You need to stay in the best shape and health possible and without any lifestyle choices to cause more damage to your liver and allow your Hep C to progress faster - alcohol - drugs etc... anything hard on your liver and you. Some HCV Specialists treat pt's early some do not. If your HCV stays active and progressing the earlier it is treated the less side effects on you and with the best possible results which lowers your viral load to the lowest numbers possible slows down or stops the disease progression liver damage and other damage and you may remain clear of the virus for many many years. It buys you and your liver more time to be healthy. It is very hard on us to choice what to do and when to do tx or not with Dr's now not all in agreement of our medical care. That is why it is best to find the best HCV Specialists and get many opinions and options for you to make the best choices for you. Love and Hugs.
