Marina,

So your son was already making approximations, etc. before the Proefa? This

is day 3 for Wiley but he seems a bit like Tanner's story - though he's

always been a big smiler and no fevers, etc. But, like Tanner before the

proefa, Wiley can do " mmm " and " oooo " and so on but just cannot connect the

two. The best he's done is a " bo " a " do " and one time a " pooh " All end

sounds are absent too. I'm not seeing any changes yet, but it's only been 2

days of course.

Yeeks. It's even more stressful when you suddenly get hopeful.

So happy you are seeing such improvements!!!

Betsy - We're very lucky in that he was doing much more than

approximations - He's been speaking in full sentences for a little

over a year and is now largely intelligible to close friends and

family. Our SLP never rated his apraxia, but I read other situations

and know exactly how lucky we are.

Good luck!! I'd be interested in hearing how Wiley does!

Maggie, that is wonderful. Keep us posted on the progress and let us

know what is/isn't working.
