Guest guest
I've been reading your posts for the last two weeks...finally have the courage to send a question. My 3 1/2 year old son is receiving speech therapy 3/week for his verbal apraxia. He's making progress but I'm intrigued (and excited) by the ProEFA supplementation. BUT, how in the world do I get him to take it? I tried the applesauce method (no go... " momma, this appa sa no yummy...no, nO NO yummy!!) This was followed by nice bilabial blowing of applesauce & fishy stench...probably not the therapeutic intervention intended. I'm at a loss for what else to try. Any suggestions? Thanks- ----- Original Message ----- > Another quick question or 2 - do you give your 3.5 son 2 ProEFAs at > one time, or space them during the day? Did you start with 1? > > Thanks! Guest guest
- what do you think about putting it in root beer? I haven't received mine yet, but whenever I've got to give my kids medicine I put it in rootbeer. The fizz helps break up the viscous syrup (works for oils, too?!?) and the flavor pretty much overpowers everything. Just a thought...let me know if you find something that works! Guest guest
good morning My son Ian, 3 weeks shy of 3 years old, has verbal apraxia and is also receiving speech therapy. I have been giving him proEFA since November and have seen amazing results! I also tried the " food sneak " method with less than pleasing results. I was getting the equivalent of a dose into him about every three days. After trying everything from pancakes to 's frosties I broke down and " squirted " the oil into his mouth. This was immediately followed by me thrusting a bag of m & m's into his hand. It actually worked. He protested for a few days, but after dangling the bag of m & m's in front of his face (like the proverbial carrot) he would comply. Now he just opens his mouth, I squirt the oil in, and he is on his merry way (does not even want the m & m's lately). I know this sounds heartless but it works and I have seen very dramatic results as a result of daily getting the (now 200 mg) into him. Just a tip...it worked for me when I was out of ideas. PS I pierce the capsule with a straight pin and squeeze the oil into a dosing syringe. Quick and painless now. Good Luck! Guest guest
, I squeeze the capsules into my son's drink. I make sure I use the same cup all day so he's gettng as much as possible. I'm afraid if I put it into food, he won't eat. We've been using Pro Efa for a year. Guest guest
I give my son his Pro-EFA by mixing it with Coromega (a flavored Omegea-3 packet). I just nibble the top off the capsule of Pro-EFA because my fingers kept getting sore trying to push a pin through the capsule. Both of my kids take it without any hestitation. FYI - my son has been on it about six months without any significant improvement. I continue to give it to him (and my " normal " 7 year old daughter) just because I think it is good for them considering their diets are not the greatest. Guest guest
yes wild fish are actually recommended, and are better for you, most store bought are farmed fish which kt says to stay away from and if you do buy from the store make sure it is not farm fish > > What was the verdict on " wild caught " fish? Guest guest
3.5 oz is 100 grams, but make sure you have a food scale it should have grams. > > > > What was the verdict on " wild caught " fish?
