-Hi ,

I've just checked with a friend in the USA and I'm told that you can

get testing done via www.GreatPlainsLaboratory.com

Apparently their website details the tests available and then a Dr

will call you and talk you through the results.

I have obviously not used them but I have heard them frequently

mentioned and I understand that a lot of people use & recommend them.

They may be anble to help you re how to get a prescription if it

seems that your little one does have a candida/yeast problem.

I haven't had a chance to check the site out myself so two things .

If you can't make sense of the different types of testing give me a

shout and I will take a look and see if I can help.

Also - I think they are just a lab that happens to be used by a lot

of people I know who are " treating " ytheir kids autism/pdd. Please

don't be concerned /offended as your child is not diagnosed with

anything of the sort yet.

Re your consultant.

It sounds as though the early intervention is aimed at PDD/Autism/ADD

type issues . They are working on your child ability to attend , to

concentrate at another direction, to stay on task without being

obbssesive and managing the need to have everything his own

way ...ASD symptoms. Whatever your child may or may not be dealing

with I personally ( for what it is worth !) would not have any

problem with this type of intervention as it will give you a lot of

info re your childs difficulties ( if any) whilst actually helping

overcome some of them.

Not being able to sit is not to much of a problem at the moment ( and

is possibly even age appropriate) but it may be signs that he could

be developing problems in this kind of area. At two Charlie developed

a similar prob ( although one of a series!!) and would not want to

sit to eat - having previously not had a problem. Within six months

just the request would bring on a violent aggressive outburst

triggered by the fact that he could not concieve of complying with

the request.

I think it is a fine way to go ..butdon't just leave it at that .

Please check out these other options .From personal experience I know

they work !

Good luck.

Regards

Deborah Dore
