My 4 year old has also become sensitive to loud noises this year. He is

apraxic(talking now) but not SI. I am also beginning to suspect ADHD but

he is too young to be sure. Although my older son didn't go through this

noise sensitivity I recall some of older cousins(on dh side and not

apraxic) being sensitive to loud sounds(like airplanes overhead) and

covering their ears at around 4 and they outgrew it. So my guess in our

case it is genetic and ds will probably outgrow it in next couple of

years. Hope this helps. Dawn

Hi all,

my son is 4 with apraxia and sensory integration issues. He covers his

ears

ALOT. I thought that this was a sign of autism. His preschool teacher

said

that it is more sensory. My son doesnt like LOUD noises. When he does

something wrong he will immediatly cover his ears since he doesnt want

to

hear anyone raise there voice. does anyone have any similar experiences

with

this....... will he ever STOP covering his ears???? Loribar@...
