Guest guest
There is no way I could read or do anything, but sit and hold his arm down. We fought him to keep the IV in the whole 5 hours. oh there was certainly a DVD playing, but it played Barney, and other great movies! I think it would be hysterical to have my husband go and have to sit through it. He would be in for a shock! ---- osdbmom <osdbmom@...> wrote: > LOL > Havent you ever just wished you had a few hrs to just SIT? > NOW you have them!! > > Next time, take a loooong novel, or a portable DVD player and watch a > movie. Guest guest
Carie, This is where your attendent care comes in. has attendent care hours specifically for his infusions. Ironically, if we were doing them at the infusion center in CA, he wouldn't need them. They have kid's private infusion rooms that are set up like a kid's bedroom/playroom. All my kids were content to play there while had his IVs. Home infusions are another story. When we did one at home, he wanted to go about business like he would at home on a normal day (moving from one room to the next). Now we do them at the nurses home, and she has a dog that is afraid of. It's in the yard the entire time, but he is so scared it will get inside, he is stuck to me like velcro. Since I also have my other kids to care for while we are there, I have his attendent care worker take turns being velcroed to him so I get a break! - itsallaboutkreed@... wrote: There is no way I could read or do anything, but sit and hold his arm down. Guest guest
the problem for me with this is i dont think anyone else could control Kreed. He spends the entire time trying to rip out the IV. They did not know how to wrap it so he couldn't get at it and twist his arm or grab it out, so i had to never let go of his arms. It was not fun! Kreed has ripped out IV's in the past and blood is just pouring out! He also removes him own stitches immediatly. he is a hard kid this way. I will just have to live with how hard he is i guess. it is frustraing and very stressful though! > Carie, > > This is where your attendent care comes in. has attendent care hours specifically for his infusions.
