Guest guest
Hi Ladies! Sharing success stories (and venting! LOL!!) seems to be what helps us keep our heads above water. I love having this forum to share the ups and downs with all of you. Dawn, congrats on finally being " MaMa " to Sierra! Deb, hearing Charlie call for you for the first time must have been wonderful! Reading your posts gave me chills and made me smile. :-) This will be my first Mother's Day as " Mommy " to . Only in the last 5 weeks has he " found " his M's. I was lovingly referred to as " Dah-ee " before then. I was apprehensive about posting his accomplishment at first in fear that I would make those of you who are still waiting to hear the magic " M " word from your children feel bad. I then remembered how good I felt for those who had posted in the past that " He/She finally said 'Mommy'! " so I decided to share 's accomplishment with the group. The responses of " Congratulations " and " Next it will be 'I love you' " were incredible! It is a gift to have all of you to share with. I don't feel that anyone needs to apologize for celebrating on the list. We can all relate. For those of us who have been fortunate enough to have reached that milestone with our child, it brings a tear to our eye remembering how much of a turning point it was in our child's development, that everything was going to be " okay " . For those that have not been so fortunate, it gives hope and maybe a chance to live vicariously through others (I know I did before started progressing). Anyone can answer to a crisp, clear " Mommy " but it takes a very special woman to respond to something that is virtually undecipherable to a stranger. To all of you still waiting to hear your child call for you, hang in there, your time will come......you've earned it. HAPPY MOTHER " S DAY TO YOU ALL!! ~Dani~ L.I., NY
