Guest guest
I am curious to know what the avg. age for diagnosing apraxia is. My daughters speech therapist said that if we need to diagnose her for insurance purposes that we could. I know that we need a doc for that diagnosis. Is that right? I asked her neurologist about apraxia and he said, " People used to not even start to worry about speech until the kids were over 2. " I was thinking, " oh boy, one of those docs. " He was great otherwise, but baffled me some at that point in our visit. I do not know if her therapy has actually helped her or not because she has been in it since 3 months. It was all feeding based until she was 14 months. She still has feeding issues, but they are working out on their own. If I could get our insurance to pay for more therapy I will do it in a heartbeat! Traci, I seen that Kennedy is now getting more therapy. Any info on this would be appreciated from anyone.
