Guest guest
I was wondering how do you tell if your child is having a problem with yeast? I've posted about my 29 month old son who doesn't talk (except for " bye bye " ) and there doesn't really seem to be more wrong, PDD and verbal apraxia have been mentioned but we're unsure about both. Anyway, I took my son off milk a few weeks ago (he still eats cheese on pizza though) just to see what would happen and to my suprise his exzema cleared up that was on his cheeks. It was never bad, it always sort of " came and went " but I then realised the exzema started after his first birthday when he started cows milk. After reading some info I've found connections everywhere and I'm having a hard time putting things together. First of all, Brady was on lots of antibiotics until he was 15 months for reacurrent ear infections (he can hear fine though). He got a mild case of exzema on his cheeks when we started cows milk, it's currently gone now that he's off milk. He also has started babbling more lately, incidentally though, he also started group sessions the same time we stopped milk AND we started ProEFA two days ago, so I don't know if it was a coincidence or not. What got me thinking is that his new little brother (7 weeks) is having a problem with thrush, it keeps coming back. We started breastfeeding and he developed thrush at about a week old, due to problems we started formula at 2 1/2weeks and he developed a case of exzema on his cheeks shortly after. It's worse that Bradys ever was, very red and bumby all over his face, head and neck and moving to his arms (we initially thought it was baby acne but its gradually gotten worse and it's obvious it itches, dr appt's a week away). His thrush also keeps coming back too and I know thats yeast related. I can't help but wonder about all these things. We are thinking about switching formula to see if that helps. With my older son I was wondering how do I find out if he has a problem with yeast? I mean, what do I look for? and if he does what do I do? Sorry this is so long but I don't know enough about all this and I wonder if this is all connected (i.e. do they have leaky guts? why, how and what?) Thanks if anyone has any insight.
