Guest guest
Hi! I'm new here and was hoping you could answer some questions. My daughter is 23 mo and has just been dx w/ apraxia by her SLT and dev ped. She also has GDD and delayed myelination and SID (all mild). We just started her on ProEFA - one a day. Is that a good dose for her age (weight is 22 pounds)? When should we start seeing results? I'm confused about therapy. We have been doing speech therapy for 7 months now with little results. (once a week - one hour) The dev ped put in a referral for intensive speech therapy and said he hopes we get it.(I'm thinking why wouldn't we???) Does apraxia require a different SLT and more often? Like how often? How do I know if the new SLT is doing the right kind of therapy? I looked under appropriate therapy (at www.apraxia.cc) but didn't really understand what everything meant. Has anyone here tried special diets w/ any success? Like Feingold? Thank you for any advice/info, Traci mom to Kennedy
