Some kind of abuse not sure what type and for some reason the judge

is saying had they been in school well then someone would have caught

it!

From what I've read, a child of Philip and Long's (they have 8), filed an abuse & neglect complaint with the L.A. DCFS. (The parents deny all of this.) The agency determined that the children were being home schooled by their uncredentialed mother while officially enrolled in independent study at Sunland Christian School. The DCFS then turned to the courts to order the children attend public school so that teachers might spot evidence of abuse. A juvenile court determined that the Longs had a constitutional right to home school their children. The DCFS appealed and the case ended up in court.

Yes, I did see this yesterday and it's ABSOLUTELY outrageous! What country are we in anyway? This ruling should've been directed at the couple at issue, not all homeschoolers. Here's a link to a petition at HSLDA.org https://www2.hslda.org/Registrations/DepublishingCaliforniaCourtDecision/ The group is filing an amicus brief in the case.
