Guest guest
It sounds like it's related to GERD(gastroesophageal reflux disease) but you need to see your rheumatologist immediately. A lot of these medications can cause ulcers of the esophagus and other complications. The fact that it came on so suddenly and strongly is a danger sign. I'd go in Monday, if possible. ----- Original Message ----- From: Kay Simpson Rheumatoid Arthritis Sent: Saturday, January 31, 2004 5:26 PM Subject: Help with esophagus Hi, All, I have a new problem.. When I try to eat I get a terrible chest pain and have to stop eating. It happened a couple of nights during the week so bad that I got no relief until finally throwing up.(Sorry) It is sounding like an esophagus problem and maybe spasms or something. It has only happened at nighttime - last meal of the day. When it happens it hurts worse to try to drink any water. Nothing helps but finally throwing up. Could this just be an acid thing going on??? Has this happened to anybody? Thanks for helping, Kay
Guest guest
do you throw up acid? i took a lot of maalox (sp) and tumms etc..etc.. before i gave in to it and finally a Dr said GERD (gastro esophageal reflux disease (sp) ) and rx'd me a purple pill . you do need to see a dr and tell him what is happening in order to rule out something else and get some help what ever it is. if it is GERD .. you might check out some websites that has really helped me to get better.http://globalwell.freeyellow.com tells about acidophilus http://www.globalwell.freeyellow.com/refshelf/substances_view/1,1525,748,00.html also or google search each DGL (licorice) and Enzymes. these have helped me a lot. love.. granny lee ----- Original Message ----- From: Kay Simpson Rheumatoid Arthritis Sent: Saturday, January 31, 2004 4:26 PM Subject: Help with esophagus Hi, All, I have a new problem.. Guest guest
I used to have the same symptoms and the dr. gave me prevacid. It really seems to help me and if I forget to take it, the next day the symptoms begin again. I hope you find something to help you!!!!!!!!!
